9/11 -- rant
As everyone know's, today marks the 12 years since the tragedy that struck New York city in 2001. Myself only being in the first grade at the time, don't really remember that day very well. I do remember being in class, at around 9 o'clock an announcement came over the intercom telling all teachers to turn on their TV's. No one really understood what was going on except for the teachers with me and my classmates only being the age of 6 or 7. Though I do not remember very clearly, I know now that it was a day that no one will forget. I've started to realize through the years though that in school, we start to fade away from the remembrance. A few years after it happened, every September 11th there would be some talk of it. A video, a guest speaker. Something. But today, of my senior year in high school. Not one word was spoken of it. Not one person in my school talked about it. To say truthfully, it upset me. Why are schools starting to fade away from the tragedy of the Untied States? With the kids that were either not born at the time, or too young to remember, why aren't we teaching them of what happened that fateful day?
One thing that makes me most upset is when the subject of 9/11 is brought up, people like to say many bad things about our President at the time. Bush.
Does no one remember how much the Untied States wanted blood after the attack on the twin towers? So many people though we should just go in and kill them all. They wanted war and when Bush gave it to them, they thought him stupid. He tried his hardest to give American's what they wanted, if everyone would have stayed out of it, he would have succeeded. President Bush had so much pressure on him. I'd like to see how Obama would have acted toward this if was president at the time. I do not agree with pretty much everything he's doing. I strongly believe if he was the president at the time, he would have just smacked them people who caused all this heartbreak on the hand and said 'stop it.' Then apologized for being so hostile. I mean really? If someone threatens us and we bomb them, we shouldn't go back and rebuild what we destroyed and make it better! Seriously, we are becoming a joke to other countries to the point were, threatening us is a good idea since we'd rebuild everything.
Sorry, went on a politics rant for a second.
Anyways.
Another thing I don't understand are the conspiracy theorist. I would like to hear what they have to say about 9/11. If they think that none of it was real then hell, go ask the families and friends that lost someone that day and tell them it wasn't real. Bet you'd get your senses knocked straight. Talk to the people that survived through it. Tell them. I'm sure they'd love to hear what you'd have to say.
Oh, you think our government planed the entire thing? Tell me, what in hell would our government get out of killing millions and destroying something that made America millions of dollars? What would they get out of it? Seriously? I want to know.
Now, i'm not against jokes. 9/11 jokes don't offend me to the extent that I would get violent about it but it does make me a little ashamed to be in the same room as that person. Why would someone joke about something that brought some pain and agony onto others? So many hearts and lives were destroyed that day and people want to joke about it. It makes me wonder how far the human race as come down hill. I can only hope that we'd find our humanity one day.
